MEXICO!

Clay and I were looking through these pictures last night and we already miss this place. It was so beautiful, so clean, perfect weather, ect. Before I ended up getting tickets to Oprah, we had planned this trip to be our first real time away from the boys. I wanted to go somewhere where the only thing to do was eat, sleep, eat, sleep, eat, sleep... You get the idea.

This place was it! It was all inclusive and the service there was incredible. People knew your name and would greet you every time you passed by. You could be in your room, at dinner, or on the beach and you could have someone bring you anything you wanted in minutes! For a mom of twins, this was just what I needed.

We are back from Mexico...

It was a wonderful time enjoying beautiful weather and great company (Clay's sisters and their husbands joined us). I will share more on the trip later but here is a video of Clay with his boys after seeing them for the first time in almost a week!

We have been back for a few days now and it is hard getting back into the rhythm of things, especially when you throw in the Warrior Dash! Yep. Clay and his friends did a 5k that includes all sorts of obstacles like mud, barbed wire, and FIRE (just to name a few). I have to say I was very frightened that Clay wouldn't be able to finish considering our family has been sick for quite some time AND we had been in Mexico doing absolutely nothing physically active. BUT he did great... here is a picture of he and his friends after the race...

No Better Place...

...than Clemson in the spring!

This past Saturday we had made our way to Clemson for the JLF Memorial Golf Tournament that honors the memory of our friend Walt's sister who passed away in a car accident. Not only are we happy to be able to support our friend Walt and his family but we also love this event every year because we get to spend time in Clemson with our good friends. The boys always play golf while the girls chat about life, and of course this year we had my two little men there to spark lots of conversation about babies.

The babies really did great and I am so thankful that they have such great little personalities. Everyone loved being around them and it was so fun to have them there with me this year. They were troopers. We got there at around 11:30 and didn't leave until 9 o'clock that night. Of course they needed naps so I set up their pack and plays under a tree not far from the tent we were under. And yes they cried. Not being in their normal setting, it was going to take a little bit of "crying it out" to get them asleep. Some people don't get this concept but when babies have been up for a long long time, they may have to cry a little before they go to sleep.

The people that did not understand this were these two men that were friends of Walt's parents...

So these men were under the tent with me but didn't know I was the mother... They saw those poor babies crying and walked over to their pack and plays and picked them up and brought them to the tent. They then asked "who is the mother of these babies?" Ha. Well that would be me. "There babies were crying"... Yep. I heard them. I honestly thought it was funny. They were the sweetest men ever and they loved that they got the babies to stop crying. They were so proud of each of "their" babies that they were taking pictures of the other one holding the baby with their phones. Of course (since they were very very tired) they started crying again and of course they gave them right back to me. MEN...

The babes finally fell asleep and we were able to enjoy the rest of the day there. We loved it. CLEMSON, sunny weather, friends, golf (for Clay), good babies... perfect! Here are a few pics...

Did I mention my family is sick AGAIN. Yep! Whatever that bug was that made for achy bodies, upset stomachs and throw up... it is back. Nothing like sick babies... Or having to do stool samples for them. YUCK. Keep us in your prayers. Clay and I are heading out of town and I would love to be able to hand off healthy babies to my parents, as well as I would like Clay and I to enjoy our time away... Mexico here we come!

The Wedding of the Year...

That's right! Just wanted to post a few pictures of my BEAUTIFUL cousin Hannah on her wedding day this past Sunday (May 1st). She and her husband Darin got married in the Dominican Republic and we will be celebrating with them this Saturday at their reception in Charleston. Hannah was my maid of honor in my wedding and I couldn't be more thrilled her! Here are the pics...

Easter Weekend

Every time we get back from Charleston, it takes a little bit of time to get things back in order, and so as a result, the blog is last on the list (plus the boys had their 3rd round of ear infections so we had to go to the doctor 2 more times to get shots!... a total of 6 times in 3 weeks).

We spent Easter with my family in Charleston for the boys 1st Easter. We had a great time and did a lot even though we were only there a couple of days... Unfortunately, Clay got the sickness the boys and I had so he was unable to enjoy any of the weekends happenings. Charleston's weather couldn't have been better and I hate that he was stuck inside but even with being sick, he said he still had a good time.

Before he got sick he was able to go golf while I visited my brother's dentist office for some work on my teeth. Saturday was filled with excitement because the boys and I marched in our FIRST Easter promenade with the Hat Ladies of Charleston (my grandmother is apart of this group and just was dying for us to join in on the fun!). Then the boys took long naps so their mother could go enjoy laying in the sun by herself... Ahh... So nice.

Then Easter was filled with the usual. Church, lunch, and egg hunts! In our family, egg hunts have always been a big deal. All of my cousins (and now their kids too) hunt for eggs. Yes, we have dentist, doctors, dental students, insurance salesmen, lawyers, ect... all hunting for eggs. It has always been a favorite time for us and I don't think we will ever stop hunting, that is as long as my Mimi keeps providing the $$$ for most eggs found!
