Thanksgiving and the Christmas Tree "Farm"

This past weekend was wonderful. We spent Thanksgiving here with Clay's side of the family and we enjoyed a day of great food and fellowship with the family. I don't have many pictures from Thanksgiving... actually, only two. One of my pumpkin cheesecake I decided to whip up last minute, and my husbands nasty mustache he decided to grow for the occasion.

The day after Thanksgiving, we headed out to get our tree at the Christmas Tree Farm  Home Depot. Since we had been Christmas shopping for a few hours and then went to get the tree, the boys had to be entertained with snacks to keep the peace. Here are some pics...

Taking It Easy...

This past Saturday we took it easy and hung out at the house. We watched the Tigers pull another win, had friends come over, and played in the leaves!

Very serious...

Sick Little Charlie

So last Thursday (just over a week ago), we were sent to the hospital after getting Charlie checked out at the doctor. Apparently he had an enlarged infected lymph node that was causing him to feel pretty sick and have high fevers. Once at the hospital, they started him on IV antibiotics and got his blood work done. The results came back that he had staph in his blood and we had a FOUR day stay ahead of us! Because he was doing so good, we got to come home late afternoon on Monday (he was happy and fever free the second we walked in the door Thursday night and his whole stay). Here are some pics... (he was in isolation and couldn't leave the room because they didn't know what he had)

was taken, there were about 8 doctors (many were residents) outside

his door with clip boards discussing his treatment options!

We feel SO SO SO blessed to be out and thank God that He is so gracious and good. Our time there wasn't spent with too much worry or fear like MANY people there and we are in awe of His goodness to us. Being in a place where so many are suffering, makes you reflect on the Lord and how much peace He can bring even in those tough times!

Sad Day

... for the Tigers this past Saturday. We lost a game but it is going to be alright. We still have the chance to win the ACC and I think that is what we need to focus on. Also, Clay and I got to tailgate with close friends in Atlanta all day while our babies were being watched by his parents. A wonderful blessing and a good time, even if we did lose.
