8 Weeks Old

Just a few days ago I realized that I hadn't been taking "weekly" pictures of the boys. You know the kind? Where you take a picture in the same place every week of a baby to see how much they grow? Well anyways, I had always wanted to do this but it just totally slipped my mind so better a late start on it then never at all.

Clay and I don't have a fancy camera so these pictures are just normal pictures taken from a normal little camera :( Maybe one day we can afford to get a really nice one. I LOVE how pictures taken with nice cameras look, don't you? It makes the same picture just look so good.

Well, here are the boys at 8 weeks!

C-L-E-M-S-OOOOO-N!!!

Yep! We got to go to Clemson this weekend?!? And yes, we brought the boys! We didn't quite know how we were going to pull it off but we knew we wanted to do it. The boys are great in their Baby Bjourns and so we knew that if we could figure out the feeding schedule then they would do just fine.

My friend Josh got us his cousins parking space at the condos behind the Esso so we were able to feed the babes upstairs there ( in an awesome room with a huge tv, ect. ) before heading out. We stopped by the Young Life tailgate and hung out before the game and then got in the game right before the Tigers ran down the hill! We stayed in the game through half time and the boys didnt open their eyes the WHOLE game. They love being held so being in those Baby Bjourns is like heaven to them!

After that we headed back to the condo to feed them and got to see the last half of the game. We had a HORRIBLE win, but it was a WIN, so we were of course thrilled. We then hoped in our car and headed downtown for some food. After that we got back in the car and headed to the Grinstead's tailgate because.... Lindsay got ENGAGED! We are sooooooo excited for her. The ring is beautiful and we were so happy to be able to be there to celebrate with them.

At this point the babes needed to be fed again so we headed to Caleb's friends house to feed the boys. It was a great time hanging out there because in a house of 7 girls, there was plenty of excitement about having a baby around. (It was cute... they called the babies "Caleb's babies"). Well, we left there and got home at 9:30. We fed the boys again and we ALL went to bed. It was a very very exhausting BUT fun day. (By the way, the boys didn't wake until 4:30 am ... 7 hours!.. woo woo!)

Yesterday was a fun filled day as well... we had church (still on the computer at home at this point) and then I got to work outside. If you haven't been to our house, you dont know that we have a LOT of trees. And when you have a LOT of trees, you have a LOT of leaves in the fall. I like to call it LEAF WORLD right now. It took me at least 3 or 4 hours to blow them all up yesterday! YIKES. And the depressing thing is that if you look up into the trees, it doesn't even look as if any leaves have fallen yet! (and I did this just two weeks ago). THANKS to Clay for having Daddy Day Care inside with the boys so I was able to clean it all up. He did however have a few seconds to pop his head out and snap these "great" pics...

Halloween!

We had a wonderful fall weekend with the boys. The football was disappointing to say the least (Clemson AND Georgia lost), but we had a family football team that was the cutest! This year for Halloween, it was football theme costumes! Our niece Georgia was a cheerleader, our nephews Jack, Ty and Davis were football players, our nephew Noah (Kemp) was the Georgia bulldog and our boys were the FOOTBALLS! I wish I had a picture of the whole group but with 7 babies 4 and under, it is a hard task.

Saturday was a long day but fun. We went to Clay's grandaddy's house, then to his Aunt Susie's house, then stopped by the Grinstead's to say hi and then ended up finally at Jimmy and Lisa's for dinner! Then on our way home we went back by the Grinstead's to pick up my phone and ended up not getting home until 12 oclock at night. It was tiring but worth it because we enjoyed just getting to hang out and enjoy all of our family and friends. PLUS, we fed the boys at 12:30 at night and they slept until 6:45 in the morning!!!! Clay and I felt great! We have not had that much continuous sleep in forever.

One Week Later...

It has been a WHOLE week since my mom has been gone and the verdict is... We will survive! Thank goodness. We weren't sure how we would do (or let's say I didn't know how we would do) but we have done all right.

Clay has been amazing. I was a little worried how the night feedings might wear on him, but he has blown away my expectations. We are definitely both very tired each and every feeding but we manage to get the job done and get back to bed in pretty good timing.

Not only have we managed to get through a whole week of night feedings on our own, we have also been pretty busy with other fun activities. We went out to eat with the twins on Tuesday night with a gift card Clay got for his birthday, on Friday night we strapped the boys into the Baby Bjorn's and took them to the Gainesville High School homecoming football game, on Saturday we had friends over to watch the Clemson/Ga Tech game, Sunday we went to Walmart, out to eat and to Uncle Joe's little league team's baseball games, and tonight we carved Miller and Charlie's first jack-o-lantern!

We have vowed to try to get out as much as possible with the twins. It IS a lot work getting them out the door but we think it is important to not stay in the house all of the time. Now granted, it is still early and we might quickly get over the idea of having them out and about, but for now we are going to try to do it as much as possible.

A Sad Day...

Today is a really sad day. As I write this my eyes look like I have been stung by a million bumble bees. About one hour ago exactly my mom left to go back to Charleston. I knew I would be sad, but I did not know I would be this sad. I am not sad because I am scared I can't handle these babies on my own or because I am going to be extremely exhausted (which I know I will be)... I am sad because I am going to miss her being here so much. I have never in my life spent so much time with any one person for this long of a continuous stretch. Have you? I have spent literally everyday of the last 5 weeks with her, non stop! We have worked side by side from early in the morning (EARLY) until late (LATE) at night. At first I thought that we might not get along (I mean, not that we don't get along, but that much time spent with one person just might take its course) but we did. It was so fun. So fun. We laughed so much (mostly because we were delirious) and enjoyed sitting around in our pajamas until 5 o'clock. We didn't let them hold us back either. We were out and about most days of the week. We went to North Carolina, South Carolina, out to eat lunch several times, Walmart trips, Target trips, trips to the outlets (on more than one occasion), ect. And every where we went people just loved the boys! We had a great little schedule of feeds and naps, coffee and Oprah, strolling and tummy time, baths and changings, cleaning and more cleaning... the list could go on for days. Those things and ALL the things we laughed about I am going to miss so much. It is what keeps making me cry when I feel like I have got to a point that I am not going to cry anymore. And all this crying has brought on a horrible headache so I am going to have to try to wrap this up (and the fact that the babies are needing to be fed now).

Here are some more pics from today. We decided to venture to a church we have been wanting to visit since we had the helping hands of my parents for one last day... The boys did really well except when we got to the very end of the service, Clay leaned over and said "We did it" and at that very moment Charlie belted out a scream. We were so close but either way they still did very good.

Momma, I am going to miss you so much. I am not good at putting into words how I feel and this blog post is a good demonstration of that, but I love you and I am SOOOOO thankful for the time you spent here. You did SOOOO much. You gave so much. You cooked so much. You cleaned so much. You loved so much and Clay, Miller, Charlie and I are going to have a rough time adjusting to you not being around. Love you.

3:45 AM

That is what time it is. I can officially say I have accomplished my first night feeding all by myself. I am pretty proud of myself. I have learned I can prop the boys up and feed them simultaneously, which for a while I was unsure if it was even possible. It isn't a quick or easy process (especially when one of them wants to fool around), BUT it can be done. AND no, I did not get on the internet because I am bored and have nothing to do at 3:45 in the morning. I am pumping for the next feeding, so what better way to pass the time then fill everyone in on what we have been up to.

It Has Been A While...

The babies come first so of course the blog isn't going to get as much attention as it use to. However, I definitely still want to try my best to keep the blogging world informed on how Miller and Charlie are doing.

Being a mother is fantastic! I feel so extremely blessed to have these sweet little buddies. They have been great babies. We have had our ups and downs but it is still the best experience ever! We are getting in a routine and learning how to perfect it and so each day gets a little more scheduled, which is a must for twins.

Bebe (my mother) is still with us!!!! Clay and I are extremely indebted to her for her services. We literally would not have been able to make it this far without her. She has made everything seem almost easy. We will be very sad when she has to leave but we know we have to do it on our own at some point. Until then, we are soaking up the good life with her being here.

There is a ton I could say about these last three weeks (YEP, they are 3 weeks old today!) but I do NOT have time to do that so I will just got through HUNDREDS of pictures I have and just give you a glimpse of some things that have gone on. Okay, I have to get back to the boys, but also wanted to mention we went on our first "trip" away from home this past weekend to Highlands, NC for our friend Peyton and Logan's wedding! We had a great time and were so happy to be able to share in all the festivities with them... Congrats yall and thanks for including us in the fun!
