Simple But Sweet

The boys turned two, and unlike their first birthday, we kept it very simple. We will be celebrating with cousins this Saturday but today was about celebrating them in a sweet, simple way. Daddy was able to stay home from work and we woke up with simple presents, donuts, and their birthday bear (they got a bear last year from their Mimi that sings and dances... a big hit this year)! After that we went to Catch Air to play and jump. The boys loved running around and getting to be with their Daddy. We ended the day at home and the McCleskey's came by after dinner to wish the boys a happy day. They made them feel so special and brought all the boys favorites... toy cars, balls, balloons, and Diet Coke :) Thanks!

Here are pictures from their day (and a few from their first "school" party)...

I may have forgotten that they do "school" parties
and had to run to the store and buy some cookies :)

Birthday sign from last year... easy peasy

They have a mini workout section. Hilarious.

 Benching with Daddy

This is when Charles decided they should jump backwards
into the ball pit...

 Daredevil.

 Mills LOVES stacking "bocks"

The boys best friend... Fisher. ADORABLE.

Learning how to blow out candles...
 ... it takes concentration.
Watching Charlie eat this reminds me of what he says every time he
eats something he likes... he says... "Mmm... I yike!"

Fisher wanted a part of the cake action... He still
has another 9 months until he gets any.

Clemson and Cruisin'

I was sure as soon as we began the school year, things would settle down for us. But honestly, I feel more busy now that we are on a schedule than I did this summer. Oh well... that's our life and I love it!

The first day of September was the Clemson vs. Auburn game down in the ATL!!! We love Clemson football and especially our Clemson friends so it was a highly anticipated event for us! We were able to tailgate before with friends and then watch the Tigers bring home the win. Here are some pics from our day...

And now for the cruising' part... I just got back from a cruise! Yep. Did you know that cruises are cheap during hurricane season?!? Ha. So my roommate from college, her mom, and her aunt all went on a cruise. 20 years ago we went to NYC together on a spontaneous trip (well, it was spontaneous for me) and then now 20 years later we had to do something spontaneous again. We went on a five night cruise (which I learned was 5 nights, not 4 nights, while I was on the ship... had to call home and tell them it was going to be one more day than I had thought :) to the Bahamas. It was so nice to just be with girls and relax. Here are some pics from our trip...

I was the only one who would dance with our waiter...

Caitlin was so ecstatic that we were celebrating
 her birthday... :)

Can't go on a cruise without doing a little karaoke :)

The Two are Two

TWO years ago we welcomed our baby boys into this world. We didn't know if we would ever have our own babies. We knew it wasn't promised to us to have babies. The promise He gives is that He will never leave us or forsake us and that His plans for us are good... not that we will not suffer. But in His sweet mercy and grace He STILL gives His children good gifts and blessings that we do not deserve. Clay and I do not deserve the blessings of these two sweet precious little boys. We know they truly are a gift from a loving Father. We do take them for granted. We do not treat every second spent with them as a gift. We do lose are patience. BUT, we have a Father in heaven who is teaching us to be patient and who has forgiven us for when we do not love as we should. Jesus did it all so we could be right with our Father. Through Him, we are learning to love better and thank Him more. I am so thankful for these boys and even more thankful for the Father who gave them to me. Who laid down the life of His Son so I could know what true LIFE is...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MILLER!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE!! Momma and Daddy love you!!

 Right before becoming parents...
