Taking It Easy...

This past Saturday we took it easy and hung out at the house. We watched the Tigers pull another win, had friends come over, and played in the leaves!

Charlie in the pile of leaves...

Always glad to find his way out!
 Chutters
They love going in and out of the doorway.
Charlie is not happy to be back in the leaves...
They helped each other find the way out.

Sick Little Charlie

So last Thursday (just over a week ago), we were sent to the hospital after getting Charlie checked out at the doctor. Apparently he had an enlarged infected lymph node that was causing him to feel pretty sick and have high fevers. Once at the hospital, they started him on IV antibiotics and got his blood work done. The results came back that he had staph in his blood and we had a FOUR day stay ahead of us! Because he was doing so good, we got to come home late afternoon on Monday (he was happy and fever free the second we walked in the door Thursday night and his whole stay). Here are some pics... (he was in isolation and couldn't leave the room because they didn't know what he had)

Because he couldn't get on the floor and play, everything
became a type of toy to give him. This was one of his favorite...
a straw.
Hanging out on the rocking chair.
Sweet little guy
He loved to stare out his window and try to get
the attention of other visitors and hospital staff.
Lounging. You can imagine he got pretty bored but
surprisingly he was so good the whole time!
People thought he was a girl when he was in this
pink gown.
Cute
It felt like the show Grey's Anatomy, because when this picture
was taken, there were about 8 doctors (many were residents) outside
his door with clip boards discussing his treatment options!

We feel SO SO SO blessed to be out and thank God that He is so gracious and good. Our time there wasn't spent with too much worry or fear like MANY people there and we are in awe of His goodness to us. Being in a place where so many are suffering, makes you reflect on the Lord and how much peace He can bring even in those tough times!

Sad Day

... for the Tigers this past Saturday. We lost a game but it is going to be alright. We still have the chance to win the ACC and I think that is what we need to focus on. Also, Clay and I got to tailgate with close friends in Atlanta all day while our babies were being watched by his parents. A wonderful blessing and a good time, even if we did lose. So here are some pics from the day...

(we were wearing matching vest, which was pretty
funny because Clay told me no one wears green to a game)

Even though it was a sad night, we woke up and got to see our babes and celebrate Clay's 28th birthday with his family...

Coastal Carolina Fair

The fair is a very special place to my family. Ever since we were very young, our Poppi took us to the fair every year. He is part of the Exchange Club (a men's volunteer group) which sponsors the fair every year and because the fair grounds are owned by the Exchange Club, Poppi gets all of his family into the fair for free and we get free hand stamps for the rides too!

It was only fitting for us to take the boys to the fair this year! Poppi was so excited that the boys were going that he almost cried when we told them we were taking them. He said that it was "all he ever wanted". So cute. Here are our pics!

Fun things you get to see at the fair.
A little ridiculous.

Excited to be at the fair!

I don't think they were exactly sure about

 Yum.

He was so proud to stroll them around.

I had one of these, a gyro, cinnamon sugar pretzel, fries,
cotton candy, ice cream, fried smore's, and fried cookie dough!
(Don't worry, I shared some of it with others)

 Enjoying fair food again.
 Bebe eating the gyro.
Charlie liked the taste of cinnamon and sugar.

My cute little Poppi... He is almost 82 and still
looking sharp.

We were on the flying elephants. What a funny

No one would play her, so I did...
I won.

We had a wonderful time. We shut the place down... Those little babies won't remember it but I will!
